My worst experience of over-consecration wasn't that of wine. At a
friend's ordination, many rounds of pita were consecrated, and I think there were
about 7 left over. There is nothing drier than plain pita, and as a bunch
of us were back in the sacristy trying to finish it off, we were
speculating as to whether it would be entirely sacrilegious to put peanut butter or
jelly on it. Unfortunately, there was no leftover wine!

The Rector of Saint Christopher's (now Christ the King) Episcopal
parish in Frankfurt/M, Germany was about to head back to the USA
for his annual vacation one summer, and realized that he needed to
consume/get rid of excess consecrated wine from the parish ambry.

He thus commandeered several of us after the Liturgy for this purpose.
(I was still drinking alcohol at that time). Three of us consumed about
2 quarts of consecrated wine, on our knees at the altar. It was an
experience.

Luckily, my wife could drive us home.
