The "Dieu et mon droit" in the Royal Seal dates from this earlier
period.
I'll never forget coming upon the tomb of Richard Coeur de Lion
at the grand French monastery of Fontevraud. The location made
sense, of course, but one expects to find English Royal tombs at
Westminster or Winchester et al.
