Here in the upper midwest Roman Catholic parishes buy ads opposing abortion
with long lists, several pages of newsprint, of individuals who are anti
abortion. Calling themselves pro-life is such a joke. The cause is also
very popular with the member of the Reformed Church and even more so with
the CRC folk. Besides Irish and eastern European names in those adds are
the Dutch names.
Years ago Bill and I went to the Trinity Institute where she was a speaker
along with Rowan Williams and Kathleen Norris. Joan Chittester was the hit
of the week. She received huge rounds of applause.
