Just went out and measured 16" - and it's still snowing (but gently).
Our driveway is long enough to appear on Google Maps (just look for 7297 VT
Rt. 14, Hardwick), plus it rises 50' in elevation from the road. Which is to
say, I don't clear it myself. There was ~8" of snow in the driveway this AM
before the plow guy came for the second time - just minutes after Lee had to
call and cancel a doctor's app't. she really didn't want to go to, 'cause of
the snow. Fantastic timing on his part - we'll have to tip him some extra.

We've had 25" here at the edge of the Pennsylvania Poconos,
and have been shut in for a couple of days. My usual shovel-persons
are complaining of bad backs and cranky snow blowers, so it
remains to be seen when we shall finally have access to the rest of
the world.
The last time we had a big one like this storm was the infamous
Valentine's Day Blizzard in 2007 with 20" of snow on ice. I was
marooned for three days then, since the local busy state highway
and I-81 were both closed and littered with deadlined tractor-
trailers and autos. The poor response time for that blizzard
resulted in a shakeup of the PA Department of Transportation.
Then there was the "Superstorm" of 1993 when I had 36" at
this location, but actually was able with four-wheel drive, to
drive down the mountain to the VAMC which stayed completely
open for business as usual.
There is lots of sitting by the fireplace this week.
