I realized recently that the time honored blink of your brights to allow someone to change lanes in front of your vehicle is compromised by auto light headlights being on all the time. My ' 08 Corolla has headlights on from moment engine turns over, day or night. Younger folks (number increasing every year, as my age climbs ) also don't seem to recognize this signal either. Truckers still appreciate it though.

No, do it while you're still parked and trying to decide whether to turn your lights on.  Some new cars turn the lights on automatically when the engine starts.  But if you don't have one of those cars, and you don't have that smart a phone, do it while still in the house at your computer and go to:
