I must admit, Jay, that this first, incomplete post of yours made me giggle a bit.  Only recently (recently, Mike? really?) I learned that the Spanish for "beef" is "res".  And the reason THAT struck me so, is that my memory of "in media res" from my literary studies had me looking at my box of frozen taquitos and saying, "In the middle of beef"?

Oh well.  May he beef in peace.
