[Magdalen] Cheap US-UK shipping?

One of my daughters lives in London. I mail a lot of stuff, large and small.

Nothing is cheaper than the USPS. If the recipient lives in a flat (um, 
apartment) then using the post has the added advantage that the parcel 
will be delivered at that end by the Royal Mail and not by a courier. 
T?he Royal Mail is authorized to put parcels into mailboxes and mail 
slots, which couriers are not.

If what you are sending fits in one of their plastic bags, it's cheaper 
than using a cardboard box.
