[Magdalen] In South Carolina, it ain't over yet

O K A Y.... read the letter to the editor. Sigh. BIG sigh.

I fail to understand how people fail to understand that THE church owns the
property in perpetuity for us (in most cases), all of us who are "family
members", so that there don't have to ever be 'worries' about who *gets*
the property - it can't get taken, stolen or given, it just is. Hmmm
something a bit theological there.

It is actually an amazing set-up that I pondered when educated about it low
those 30+ years ago. It is also one that is rarely taught, to our
(TECmembers) disadvantage. Those who hold the belief that all the fixing,
adding, maintaining have anything to do with ownership are missing an
important truth, IMNSHO. Again, theology brings wisdom to bear.

I would rather hear the true version of this fable... or maybe just a
parable.

And, Ginga... deep memories and sorrows about how you and your own friends
and former parishioners have been rend apart by all of this.

In many ways this kind of a conflict conforms so completely with the stormy
times of the last decade(s). Power, selfishness and finger pointing.

peace
Lynn
