[Magdalen] Five Hundred Years

Still working from home most days. Still working for a CMS (Centers
for Medicare/Medicaid Services) contract for ESRD (End Stage Renal
Disease) systems (older and much larger than ACA/ObamaCare). It's
crazy, but after nearly a year in my "new" job (support of all the
"middleware" environments and platforms - mostly Oracle Fusion
WebLogic applications and servers) it isn't as overwhelming as it was.
Learning can still take place even as the oldest techie in the corral.

Yes Scott, I wasn't able to watch the USPS spin-merge
announcements/cheerleading session yesterday so I don't have many
details. But I am solidly in the USPS (US Public Sector) category so I
am assuming I will move. I've also lost a week's vacation with the
HPE-to-DXCTechnology move. Wonder what we will lose next?

Have almost entirely recovered from last year's medical emergency
(massive pulmonary embolism) - have my old energy back but have been
overtaxing the physical plant (tendons/ligaments/muscles) in my push
to recover function. Poor old body.

Managed to get sort-of underground caving (the entrance was blocked by
a flood but we got past the drip-line), have been able to volunteer at
the Smithsonian Conservation Biology Institute with some
herpetologists (amphibs), still singing with the choir & active at
church (Trinity, Wash.VA is moving from Region 13 of DIOVA to the new
"Culpeper" region). Need to catch up with house & yard maintenance -
we will win no prizes for local competitive yard maintenance this year
(or any year, for that matter!), but the pawpaw trees put out 120
pawpaws this year, now made into pawpaw butter and frozen for later
inspired cooking.

Sorry for the topic bending/breaking - have a few moments between
troubleshooting/problem solving calls & am just too delighted to be
enjoying life again to be quiet!
