[Magdalen] FDR Dies.

Well, my parents weren't married until December of that year and I wasn't
born until two years later. Lee (who was born 5 years later) remembers her
father talking of "that man in the White House", and I know my maternal
grandfather was a life-long Republican and no fan of FDR at all.

I don't recall my parents, both Republicans, ever mentioning that FDR had
died on what became my birthday six years later, but my father who was
originally from the south never tired of reminding me that I was born on
Fort Sumter Day.
