I agree with you. I saw something in 3D years ago, which was interesting 
but it destroyed the colours, and I saw something in 3D IMAX which was 
really powerful. The one 3D film I saw in recent years left me 
disappointed as it didn't really work. It looked more like one of those 
old model theatres with action on a series of flat planes behind the 
proscenium arch. Tis may have been due to an interaction with my 
varifocal spectacles but I decided it was not for me.
