When I was in the hospital, they did a teaching session on taking a medical
history with my much-despised roommate. One senior physician, three medical
students. Turns out her sexual history was just as boring and banal as the
rest of her!

But I digress.

During the course of the interview,
they informed her that she was Jewish.
She protested vigorously!
Her parents were Catholic!
Catholic immigrants from Germany!

Good times.

PS. Had a friend named Emanuel. His sister was named Rachel. His mother’s
name was Esther. “Oh, your family was Jewish,” I said.
“No, they were Italian,” he replied.
