[Magdalen] Ice and Snow along GA & SC

Right. SC is well equipped for hurricanes but snow, not so much. We had a
white Christmas in 1989. That was a huge year for our family. In late
September, Hurricane Hugo destroyed the SC low country...we took a tree
through our roof, my sister was hit by 3 tall pines. My mother was
actively dying when Hugo blew us apart. My two sisters and I were doing
bedside care for Mama...she wanted to die at home. During Hugo and its
aftermant, she was with my sister and her family for 3 weeks until we got
power back up. We got Mama back in her home a few weeks before she died.
On Dec 22 - 24, 8 inches of snow fell on all the piles of trees and broken
landscapes, covering the ugly reminders of Hugo with beautiful pure white.
A spiritual experience that has remained with all those who lived through
Hugo to Snow in 1989, and all that came between. On Dec 26, my sisters and
I emptied our mother's apartment of her things and dispersed them among the
three of us. The snow made that easier.
