I have met many New Englanders through the years descended from the French 
Canadian migrations.  I understand that those that stayed by the church 
raised a distinctly unique group of Roman Catholics between the dogma from 
Rome, the particular overlay of the French Canadians was quite extreme, I'm 
told.
