[Magdalen] RIP Charles Emerson Winchester III, 75.

That Mozart Clarinet Quintet flew off the shelves after that program, and
rightly so. It's a marvelous, delicious piece.

I had already figured out the Charles was a good man, but my opinion was
cemented when the Korean soldier musicians were brought back to the Mash
dead and dying.
Charles sees them, recognizes them and furiously exclaims, "These were not
soldiers; they were MUSICIANS!!" And he goes into his tent and puts on a
record to salve his spirit, but as it begins to play, he grabs it a smashes
it in rage and frustration at the stupidity and futility of war.
A very wonderful actor to bring such depth to that character. I liked and
enjoyed Hawkeye and Trapper. But I loved Charles.
