St Luke's Episcopal, Jolon, CA, came across my desk today for a run-of-the-mill review of a Use Permit for a telecom facility being installed on the premises.  (Not-so-well-off churches of all ilks are more than willing to charge a bit of rent to our friends the telecommunications giants.  This one is Sprint.)

But the fun (for me) is that, first of all, I didn't exactly know we (Diocese of El Camino Real) had a parish away on down south at Jolon (just above the Monterey/SLO County line), and second of all because, as parcel/lot lines south of Salinas are a bit wild-west-ish, I had to study the site plan and draw my own parcel boundary lines on the GIS map I needed to prepare.  Call it a bit (a wee bit) of geeky bureaucratic amusement on my part.  (And I need amusement at work these days.)

And perish the thought that this greasy spot on the road Episcopal parish doesn't actually have a website.  It's minimalist, but better -- way better -- than some:
