[Magdalen] Nonsmoker again

After 20 years of nonsmoking, I started again in November. Didn’t take long
for me to get right back up to the 30 smokes a day that I was smoking when
I quit in 1997 (much more expensive now!). Also didn’t take long for it to
stop being fun. My plan was to quit on Ash Wednesday, but I had the patches
already, and so just stopped 4 days ahead of time. Now it has been 5 weeks
since I’ve had a cigarette, and today I “graduated “ to 2 more weeks on the
Step 3 patches. My target Day 1 of no nicotine at all is Easter Day, but
we’ll see how Holy Week goes (it’s going to be a busy one again this year).
I’m feeling happy about how I’m doing, even though I do miss it. If you’re
ever sitting around wondering who to pray for, you might send up a couple
of spare ones for me, for continued progress and success.
