[Magdalen] Leeks.

I usually feed the leek tops to the groundhog who lives in the ravine,
along with other basically inedible-by-humans vegetable matter. We call it
"feeding Grundoon". Fans of the Pogo comic strip will understand the
reference. Such things must be good for him as he is sleeker and shinier
than the neighboring groundhogs.
