And besides the raccoon hunting meaning there was only the
melon stealing meaning in NW Wisconsin.  There were at last
check NO BLACKS in that county at all.  I didn't see an African 
American until I was a teenager, so using "coon" in its pejorative
sense just didn't happen since there was no contact with
Blacks.
