Notre Dame also survived Napoleon, who had his coronation there andfamously snatched the crown from the Pope who was there for that event,to crown himself.  In contrast to England's Westminster Abbey thatserves as the coronation church as well as the location for the royal tombsFrance divides functions with coronations at Reims Cathedral and royaltombs at Saint Denis Abbey.
