Roses to the medieval architects and builders. The roof can burn right off
but the vaulting remains (needs extensive fixing, though, yes). I was
amazed at the first photos from inside...lots of water, yes, but altars,
altar cross, acres of chairs still in place mostly. Maybe the first things
are to reroof, certify soundness, then make the cathedral usable although
in a rough, minimalist state, and notably without the organs. Well, there
are the windows to deal with...no small project, but one can imagine
rebuilding in some form.
