I found recently a video of The Concordia Choirs (Concordia Collegeat Moorhead, MN - ELCA) presenting their Christmas concert.
This brought back memories of a similar concert format put onby the high school choirs of the seven high schools thatrepresented the schools in my home town district. Thiswas in 1953.
The format of individual choirs performing and then the massedchoirs was essentially the same as the one at Concordia.
The location for the concertwas a school that had an exceptionally large gymnasium.
My choir had an early morning rehearsal, and then the concert was in
the early evening. This left our choirmembers to fend for themselves
Our choir had the use of a home schoolroom and we were warned topack a lunch.
There were no devises or other electronic entertainments. Onthis occasion, the several of us that were in the Latin-4class occupied ourselves by covering the extensive blackboardsin our schoolroom by declining the Latin verb," to be" in chalk.
The time passed. Things have certainly changed.
