The "allergy" to incense of a large percentage of Anglicans is legendary.  There was thatamusing study that featured empty thuribles in procession, surrounded by numerous pitifullycoughing laity,  This  would show what's really at work, i.e., psychology and not allergy.

Though TEC Diocese of MN has strongly elevated in the liturgical world, there are still somelow church holdouts.  Some years ago I was thurifer for the ordination to the diaconateof a good friend in a notoriously low church parish in Saint Paul.   He wanted incense for
the Pontifical Eucharist at the ordination.  Now, no one had ever heard of an instancewhen incense appeared at Saint Clement's.  It was predicted that the paint would peeloff the walls at such a prospect.
I asked the ordinand if he wanted heavy or light incense.  He wanted heavy.  He gotheavy.  The parish church survived.

Deep sigh.  Incense does so enhance – everything.
