I was 25 years old newly ordained sitting with my parents in my nice rectory suite watching the event on Tv on a Sunday afternoon. I don't know what we did later. I am imagine we went out to dinner. Not knowing the lay of the land I didn't recommend any nice restaurant but maybe we got a suggestion from someone.
