Though the local Procathedral has been rising in churchmanship during the35 years I've been in the region, there is still a rather militant low churchbrigade there.  For example, even though the Proulx "Community Mass" is inTEC '82 Hymnal the parish had to discontinue its use because of thecomplaining about the word, "Mass."
And on the subject of Protestants, one of my best friends in high school(Class of 1955) is a retired Baptist minister whose congregation justleft the ABC because it has become "too liberal." I avoid any discussionof religion or politics when chatting with him.  I don't think he would bevery accepting of my wild-eyed Liberal politics, sexual orientation orhigh church faith.
We can avoid these issues, and still have some satisfying conversation.
