Quaint Episcopal Liturgical Customs.

I saw some recent pictures taken in the Christ Church Cathedralin Eau Claire, Wisconsin USA.  They are holding on to some oldcustoms they inherited from the "Biretta Belt" days of yore.

(1)  They have preserved the "pavement lights," the large, floorstanding Eucharistic candles used in place of Eucharistic candlesat the altar top itself (they do not use Eucharistic altar candles, butthey have the six tall office lights that rest on a retable just east ofthe altar mensa).  These six lights are lit for sung liturgies.

(2)  They place a tall candle at the back of the altar cross when
the Bishop of Eau Claire is celebrating, which is frequently.

Is anyone on list familiar with similar quaint customs?

David Strang.
