Grace,
Continuing Anglican is a term that many of the breakaway groups have
appropriated to themselves at least since the 1970’s. They want to proclaim
that they are continuing the true Anglican tradition, whereas in actuality
when a diocese such as South Carolina or Fort Worth incurs a rupture such
as we have seen it is really the faithful remnant of Episcopalians who are
the continuing church.
