Sorry, I incorrectly read what you wrote, Cady.  And, yes, in SC
Episcopalians are far out numbered by more Protestant, Pentecostal, and/or
Fundamentalists churchgoers.  So be it.

OTOH, The Episcopal Church in SC is solidly Episcopal.  Not all
Episcopalians in the SC church are culturally progressive, but we all 'get'
the fundamentals of the baptismal covenant, which seems uniquely Episcopal
to me.  SC will continue conservative years into the future.

My local Episcopal Church's roots go back to a 1706 when the Church Act
divided the colony into 10 parishes.  Our area was named St. Paul's
parish.  So, there is a proud tradition of Episopal/Anglican ethos in SC.
John and I took a drive today into the nearby countryside to visit a
colonel parish (Pompian Hill), but alas, the gates were locked.  Boo.
