Grace,

Your phone has the ability to connect directly to a tower. Depending
on your plan, your wifi may have a separate connection - it isn't
connected to your phone, is it?

Our phones may potentially connect to one of 4 towers in our area. Our
wifi is hard-connected by positioning to a single tower. Some days
both work, some days neither work. Most often one or the other is
slightly off.
