Marion, you are in my prayers as you make decisions about treating your hip.

FWIW, I has my right hip replaced last April.  I made a quick recovery with
the assistance of 6 weeks of physical therapy at home for 2 weeks and the
rest in office.  The procedure I had was a frontal incision about 4 inches
long.  This procedure has excellent results regarding less discomfort and
quicker recovery.  I tell you all this as encouragement.  My left hip will
need a replacement soon but not before we take a trip this spring.
