Don, after continued 'research' I ended up 'messaging' Fr. Eric Funston who provide some droll humor by prioritizing military ribbons over one's hear as his first suggestion.... but then got serious by providing *the answer* - school emblem on wearer's left, remaining 'patch', in this case the TEC shield, on the wearer's right. Problem solved. Thanks for the Armentrout quote - I have had the privilege of meeting the Rev. Armentrout whilst he was a professor at Sewanee (one of my many seminary visits).

Lynn,   The Armentrout & Slocum “Episcopal dictionary of the church (Church publishing Inc, 2000)  definition for “tippet” concludes thus:  “[The tippet] may be ornamented by emblems such as the Episcopal Church seal or the insignia of the wearer’s seminary.”  In light of the editors’ predilection for excruciating detail, I believe that if there is a customary or correct placement they would have said so.  Unless the tippet is intended to be a  surprise gift I’d ask the intended recipient her/his preference.
