My father was a math professor at Michigan State starting in 1955. He resigned in 1961 because the Provost pressured him to give a grade of C+ to a varsity football player who was failing his class. When he left MSU, he took a job working for the Department of the Navy designing torpedoes and missiles. We moved to Maryland.
