Glad to see these posts as I've been wishing for more "barstool" conversations myself. 
A good report on Jim- his health while still up and down has stabilized and he is embracing following doc's orders and kind of turned a positive corner in his head. TBTG.

Magdalen just does not communicate as frequently as we once did.  I find
that sad, and I also know groups run their courses.  I think of dropping my
membership, but I still follow some good folks, like you, Judy...and Roger.
