What a day/afternoon.... Glued to TV after turning it on at 4:30 (central time) thinking I might see the last of the votes over "upsetting" the ECollege smooth progression only to see the video recap of a terrible afternoon. I expected chaos but never saw the assault coming. Very pleased with some of the very powerful speeches, amazed that some congresspersons have 'seen the light' and more hopeful when I turned off the TV than I have been in years, amid the tragedy.

I just heard on the late news that there have been 3 more deaths, and stashed guns found. Some of this tragedy and crazy is over, but in other ways it may never really be over. God help us and look over us.
peace

Five-Thirty-Eight's Maggie Koerth-Baker reports that the protesters
expected to be welcomed by the police, who they consider their allies.

Peaceful protests were held in several state capitols (reports include
Colorado, Georgia, Kansas and Oregon).

Several congressional members (D & R) have stated they want to get the
Electoral College vote approved tonight.

Whiplash!
