[Magdalen] An encouraging sign?

I know I am in liberal New England but I saw something unusual today 
driving up US-1 and 1A from Boston to Kennebunkport. Obviously I am used 
to seeing the stars and stripes outside houses and businesses on my 
various road trips over the years but this year the  display inclided a 
number of rainbow flags and even a crosswalk coloured with the rainbow 
of the pride flag. Is this an indication of resistance to any proposal 
to end marriage equality?
