[Magdalen] favorite book(s) from 2024?

I have been reading/rereading Peter May from Scotland who writes mysteries.
The Black House was the first I read.

My husband and I both find the cultural/social aspects of the books of
interest.

I am also reading an Irish author who writes more slice of life books.
