I've latched on to a new technique: "I'm not taking on anything new at
church until I'm no longer the webmaster, because the website
generates enough work by itself." I've also told the rector I'd like
to give the website to a new webmaster by April 1, 2015.

Today the head MC asked if I'd like to be trained as an MC. I'll think
about it but have the tool described above to use if needed. I no
longer have the "I don't want to learn a new way to annoy the rector"
angle. Our new rector is far less annoyable.

Although today as subdeacon, I sort of heard myself sounding like an
MC when the celebrant (not the rector) after Communion asked me to get
the water cruet and pour some into something. I said, "I will, after
you finish consuming what's in the chalice." Meow!
