My parish uses a moderated list for announcements of concern to the parish
such as changes to service time, deaths, etc. it is not a forum and is
basically read only. It is used sparingly.

The church also has a Facebook presence on which only the moderator posts.
This is used for announcements, advertisements of events, inspirational
music, prayers, etc.

We have the website.

We have no unmoderated presence.

I am thinking about a Facebook group, a book group online, etc.

Grace, while I see your concerns, I feel more and more that the world
around me has changed. If we are to engage the younger generation and be a
functional church, I think we have to meet them where they are and find a
way to be relevant there in their world.

If we do not, there is no church after our generation is gone!
