I preferred the Green Book (LBW) I've only used the red book a couple of
times, but everyone seemed to know the music. For non Lutherans Missouri
Synod has the more difficult music and is more traditional. Then the
Lutherans sing the Gloria tibi Domine and Laus tibi Christe and Deo
Gracias. Oddly enough RC's are returning to that as well even if the
Gospel is not chanted.
The Higher church Episcopalians sometimes sing the responses after the
Gospel, but not the Epistle. In the old times some of these were recited
with the Rc's and some chanted.
