No; I think in this case he was back on the job for awhile and then  made
the decision on his turning 65 to retire from GTS.  He had held  the
position for 39 years.
 
This was all over the Anglican Music List, and there was no talk of  his
leaving being a direct result of the previous faculty/Dean  unpleasantness.
 
But, only David Hurd knows for sure!
