proved to be an equally large Confederate flag. What the heck? ~SMH
For some years, there was a van always parked smack in front of
the Latin Tridentine parish church with a large variety of attached
conservative political slogans especially on the back doors.
The largest of these was emblazoned, "DIE LIBERAL SCUM",
and this assemblage was all tied together with a large Confederate
flag.
Since I was in the choir and was on the late side exiting the church,
I wondered whose van this might be.
Then I discovered it belonged to the son of a couple singing in the choir.
I asked them about it, and was surprised at the gist of their explanation:
"The Church has never condemned slavery". Shortly after this conversation,
they left the Tridentine Rite for one of the Byzantine parishes over the
issue
of mixing the consecrated Hosts from the Saturday Ordinary Form Mass
with those of the Tridentine. They did not recognize Hosts from the
New Rite.
And Anglicans think they have problems!
