The one thing I do
not have in hard copy is the ordinal.>>>>
Not long after about twenty years ago when the FSP (Fraternity of Saint
Peter)
arrived in NE Pennsylvania, there were some ordinations to the diaconate
planned. They immediately discovered that a copy of the Tridentine Ordinal
was nowhere to be found. It had been twenty years since any ordinations
in this area had followed the Latin Ordinal. The ordinations required the
Tridentine version.

Finally, after much international scurrying a copy was found in the far
north of Canada, and the final preparations began.

The Scranton Cathedral was chosen as the church large enough to
accommodate the crowds, but the sanctuary there had been modernized
with an un-elevated free-standing high altar.

There was more scurrying about to rearrange the existing altar with six
office lights, large crucifix, and oriental rugs, etc. to make the
sanctuary
acceptable for the Old Rite which was, of course, ad orientem.

This rearranging hadn't been thoroughly approved by the Pastor and
Cathedral
clergy, and those of us who were rehearsing the music for the ordinations
had
a good view in gallery of the tremendous argument that ensued when the
rearranging
was discovered by them

It bordered on fisticuffs with Cathedral clergy vs. Tridentine clergy.

The disagreement in the sanctuary was far more interesting than the
ordinations.
