The 12:30 p.m. Tridentine High Mass at St. John Cantius here in
Chicago is a hugely attended Mass, with lots of young couples and
families. There seems to be a lot of traffic to and from a child-care
area somewhere. But they also have an 11 a.m. Novus Ordo Latin Mass
similarly attended.

Scott the Younger has a low Requiem Mass said for his departed mother
every year around July 1. This year it was in an ornate (quite
beautiful) chapel and said by Fr. Scott Haynes, who is in charge of a
lot of the music and publishing activities and the Healey Willan
Society (that's right; you read that correctly). For me the Requiem
was a lot of kneeling in silence, sweating, and innerly celebrating
the turning of each successive page in the silver Requiem Mass guide.
:) And praying for the repose of the soul of his mom.

Scott the Younger did a funny mistake last year at the Requiem...there
traditionally are some prayers in English after the Last Gospel,
including three recitations of "Most Sacred Heart of Jesus: have mercy
on us." Last year it started with Fr. Haynes saying "Most Sacred Heart
of Jesus" and Scott said "Pray for us." Fr. Haynes joined in the
responses from then on. :)
