One of the concerns in some places in the U.S. is the notion of "How many 
Episcopal Churches do people drive by to get to **their** pariah."

Related to that (back in MP Days) were communities where significant numbers of 
members would shift among the Presbyterian, Methodist and Episcopal Churches 
(certainly true in Smithtown) whenever there was a change of clergy or a small 
number of friends moved along for one reason or another, bringing their friends 
with them.

In Smithtown this group -- maybe 10-15 families were counted as members of all 
three churches. This died out when MP was replaced by the Eucharist in THE 
parish.
