The fact that the parish ran out of congregation and ran out of money 
and had to close and is now for sale speaks for itself, I think.

One might argue that things were ruined when changes in liturgy were 
instituted, but that kind of thing is a decision of the Rector and the 
Vestry and the Leadership -- not people who drive 50 miles once a week, 
I suspect.

I would suggest not second-guessing the people who looked around the 
neighborhood and made those decisions.

I hasten to add that I'm not in favor of lots of parishes doing exactly 
the same thing on a city that has multiple parishes. As I've written 
before, there are 22 TEC parishes in reasonable walking distance from 
where I worked in Manhattan -- and each one had its own liturgical 
personality. -- not two alike, and I think that's important for the 
viability of each. But the shed is is fairly limited. Cheers, Jim
