[Magdalen] pondering politics

We have large posters at bus stops reminding mothers of unwanted
newborns that they can leave a baby with the staff at any hospital,
fire station, or police station and will not be required to answer any
questions. I'm sure they'd like to know when the baby was born, where,
and to whom, but I think their main concern is that babies be safely
turned over in this way and not doing anything (like an interrogation)
that might scare a mother into anonymously leaving the baby to die
somewhere unsafe. They can leave the baby and go and will not be
pursued.
