Such was the intention, to be sure.  But his untimely death (nearly in her arms) got in the way.  She is now a homeowner in her own right, and on the verge of moving to New England to be near her daughters and grandchildren, because "Salinas has not been kind to" her.  Knowing her story, I can't help but concur.  Sadly.
