I do understand fully, Grace, your irritation at the state of affairs.  I too used to say "one-person-one-vote-or-nothing", which is why it took me so long to enter the voting arena.  But what I've come to believe is that no matter how flawed the electoral college system is, I really can't envision a United States without it,  barring others smarter than me coming up with something better.
