You're giving pets, especially dogs, and humans common sense which
they often don't have.
 
My Chihuahuas  for example will attack any animal in the yard,  even
though they are usually ridiculously small in comparison most of the
time.
 
If you take a good look at the teeth of a ground hog, you can guess  what
damage they can do if they feel the need to defend themselves.
