Chicago's venerable Berghoff is still here, although possibly under
different owners. They boast about having the city's Liquor License
No. 1.

We've also got Gene & Georgetti steakhouse among the longtime
restaurants. Italian Village as well. I'm sure I'm forgetting some.
But many other legendary places are long gone, notably Henrici's
(which had a high-profile last few days and closing) and the Blackhawk
(of the Spinning Salad Bowl...they got so much mileage out of what was
simply a technique for adding the salad dressing...the salad's in a
large steel mixing bowl set inside a larger one that has water and ice
in it, so the salad bowl can be rotated while dressing...wonder of
wonders!).
